A simple hello is a powerful thing! This is a seasons song about the things that it’s fun to go outside and do in our neighbourhoods and communities throughout the year.
Isn’t it so interesting how small humans have much less social reticence than adults? We will often hear a friendly and inquisitive ‘hello’ pipe up from a pram as we walk up the street in our town, while the humans pushing said pram keep their face firmly fixed on their phone.
During lockdown in our town, and across New Zealand lots of folks took daily walks and bicycle rides on the empty streets, so while we all kept our distance, there were a lot more smiles and waves hello along the way which made the neighbourhood so much friendlier.
