Description

There are a lot of songs with the title "Indian Summer". This is a song that I should have put up, here on Soundcloud, a long time ago. I was just reminded of it because we are into what seems to be “Indian Summer” right now here in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada – late September. It’s that time of year when things start cooling down and there is a last surge of summer to give you a little hope that it will be a long and mild autumn. It doesn’t always work out that way. It’s also a time of harvest – bringing in all the good stuff we’ve been growing in our gardens all summer. Digging up the potatoes. Cutting some of the nicer flowers to bring some of that beauty indoors.

This song is quite rare since there was only a limited number of the 7-inch vinyls pressed – and I think I may have lost the master. It never did appear on an album, but we did release the single and had a little bit of radio success with it, as well as a few nice reviews.

When we were playing live as the full Wilfred N & the Grown Men band, “Indian Summer” was one of the songs I most enjoyed playing. It just felt good with its gentle loping beat, it’s billowing sound – and I liked playing that brassy synth part before the tag. It was fun.
