Rami Vierula's nocturnal musical habits under his guise of 23:23 has produced an extremely productive period for the songwriter, away from his usual activities with his band Delay Trees. Last year saw the reissue of three 23:23 albums, plus a fresh EP released late in 2o15 called To Die On A Faraway Island With You.
This latest chapter in 23.23's ongoing late night explorations isn't quite over as a video for the Ep' s de facto title track ably demonstrates. Creatively shot and directed by 23:23/Black Lizard drummer Onni Nieminen, Faraway Island's visuals perfectly demonstrates that feeling of solitude and longing. A special song for a special loved one, Faraway Island arrives just in time for Valentine's Day, the sentiments warm enough to melt the coldest heart:
"I wanna be yours forever
Feel your rib cage against mine
Oh lay beside me and wait for the death to arrive "
