We first had the pleasure of getting to know today's guest in Oct 2020 when we premiered 'Fathom', the title cut from his 5-track EP on Shadow Puppet. With an evolving sound encompassing Colombian rhythms, electro blends, dazzling synth lines and his own vocal touches, he portrays a sense of magical realism in his original productions. Split between Bogotá & London, we are pleased to present OKRAA with a mega groove-inducing, offbeat, hip-hop, acid-infused one hour guest mix, including a new unreleased track of his own, a perfect kickstart to the summery times ahead.

During his career, OKRAA's tracks have been played on BBC Radio 1, KEXP, NTS Radio and Rinse FM. Press reviews include Resident Advisor, DJ MAG, Mixmag, and VICE, among others. During his career, he has performed at Pop Kultur Festival (Berlin), SXSW (Austin, TX), Mutek, Festival Estéreo Picnic and has toured through the UK, Germany, Austria, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, Mexico and Colombia.
His sound has evolved through the years, always taking the Colombian rhythms imprinted on his DNA to the language of different genres of electronic music. He has always pushed his sound further into experimentation with every release, taking listeners through a diverse journey during the listening process. For his compositions, Juan decided to stay away from computers and digital workstations, working with an MPC Live + numerous synth modules, in the aim of coming up with an end-product that reflects the sound of his live performances. Thumping electro blends with cununo samples and dazzling synth lines to portray Magical Realism.
He has won the 'Bogotá, Capital creativa de la música' national composition award + a 'Best Electronic Artist' nomination in Colombia's most important music awards (SHOCK awards).
After having his 2020 EP release entitled ‘Fathom’ receive great exposure, including a premiere of the title track on Getting Deeper, 2021 and 2022 come up with several releases lined up already on different local and international labels to be announced soon.
