The Merin VA series turns four with another quartet of quality on Renaissance Records. With a tracklist that highlights how broad and far the term house runs; it is, without question, their most diverse selection to date. Whether the organic-tinged beauty of Donatello’s Mystery; James Harcourt’s twisted-house fable Autodisco; the Bicep-esque Shutter courtesy of Mattr or Michael Hooker’s Hide, which features the vocal talents of Isaiah Tilson, the VA confirms the future of electronic music looks very bright indeed.
“We get sent so many tracks these days we’d be lost without Merin,” explains label head Marcus James, it’s an outlet for material from the most exciting production talent today.
