As the 20th label release for PuzzleProjectsMusic, this deceptively simple track is an immediate winner, combining a perfect reverb-heavy beat, a neatly filtered tribal conga line, and delay-laden disco claps, '9AM Madness' properly announces itself after 90 seconds with an acid flex and sizzling hi-hats. And it's some entrance, thanks to that wobbling, almost narcotic bassline.
From there the intensity slowly builds through spoken word snippets and cleverly panned percussion creating a wonderfully hypnotic deep groove. The artful suspense finally gives way to a truly hedonistic breakdown: all sunrise melodies, dropped beats, and that slamming acid break creating a euphoric hands-in-the-air crescendo.
Straddling the genre gap between tech-house, deep house, and acid, the aptly named '9AM Madness' is perfect sunrise material for the wide-awake and wonky club. But thanks to its restrained structure, it's equally adaptable as a set opener or a mid-set thumper.
With support from some of the major heavyweights in the scene, 9AM Madness will without question, be a main fix in track libraries of the tech & deep house scene.
