Christian Vance returns to Monog Records with Five Thieves EP, his first full release after he first appeared here back in 2016 with a remix on Rave Nights EP by Juliane Wolf. As fate would have it, we’ve turned the tables and brought Juliane in on remix duties to return the favour. This is something we will actively promote at Monog, to reconnect artists musically, so keep an eye out for more like this. Christian is a power house on the Berlin club scene, his own fusion of House and Techno music is informed and influenced by his classically trained musical background which works perfectly with his electronic sound. He has played in various cities, countries, clubs and festivals in recent times, most notable Stattbad, Tresor and About Blank in Berlin, Club Kyo in Singapore and Berns 2.35:1 in Stockholm to name a few. Great to have him back once again.
The Five Thieves Original Mix opens with a super chunky kick drum which is joined by multi layered percussions that bring a pacey rhythmic flow to the track. A hypnotic bass arp sits menacingly as cool vox sounds fade in. A deep rumbling bassline rises up alongside flashy synth chords that create a dazzling display. A wonderfully rich and in-depth experience that will work well in a range of sets due to its hybrid nature.
