In this episode, I share my thoughts on mental health and some of the challenges I’ve faced in my own life.
Most boys growing up would have heard the phrase ‘big boys don’t cry’ and that showing your emotions is a sign of weakness. Well, I challenge this outdated approach at length and believe suppressing our emotions it’s a recipe for disaster for later in life.
I talk openly about some of the biggest challenges I’ve faced and the effects it’s had on my own mental health. Including being on anti-depressants, and how through speaking to a therapist I was able to understand how I was feeling and help release away that pressure. I also go in-depth about how meditation & journalling have really helped in recent years.
Our mental health is something we’ve all got to take care of, especially in these times when so much is changing. Being vulnerable and talking openly is, I believe, a sign strength not a weakness and I encourage you to find a way to talk about some of the challenges we face.
