Frank Occhiuto joined the United States Navy right after his high school graduation in June of 1942. He was 17 years old.
He initially served aboard the Destroyer USS Hank DD702.
He is a plank owner of the Destroyer USS Lowery DD770.
The Lowery received the above Citation for it's service on a radar picket station during the Okinawa Campaign.
