An update after the last episode about the relaxing of rules regarding scooters in Japan; it is likely that the same rules that will apply e-scooters from July will also apply to mobility scooters, but the guidance is a bit more ambiguous as on JR trains, mobility scooters must:
“move at a speed no more than 2km/h and follow the instructions and warnings of the train attendant, and do not use routes other than the ones specified.”
