Today's gospel recounts the Transfiguration on mount Tabor, after which Peter exclaims "Lord, it is good for us to be here." Pastor Lorne explains that Peter, by wanting to build shrines for Jesus, Moses, and Elijah, wants to remain on the mountaintop where things are good and comfortable. God has other ideas for the disciples (both then and now) and says "This is my son... listen to him." And Jesus says "Do not be afraid."
