The Coronavirus is a global threat not only to human health and lives but also to the economy and well-being of people everywhere. In the U.S., more than 26 million people have claimed unemployment benefits so far. In China growth is declining by 7% for the first time in 50 years. Oil prices are down as people are locked down and businesses are closed. Yes, fewer cars on the road are resulting in cleaner air. But the uncertainty about the end of the pandemic leaves us with an air of uncertainty about where we are heading.
Dr. Atef Abdel Gawad discussed the impact of the Coronavirus on the global economy and our wellbeing with a group of distinguished guests and experts: From Washington Prof. Mohamed Rabie who is professor of International Political Economy, from Michigan Journalist Khalil Hachem, who is the founder and executive editor of bizmagazine.org, and from Washington Dr. Nabil Al-Ethari who is a researcher and academic, and a professor of International Business Strategies at Virginia International University.
