When we read about the battles that God called the nation of Israel to fight like at the city of Jericho, how do we reconcile that with the loving God we see in Jesus? Why are some saved and some lost? Why did God bless the Israelites but overthrow the inhabitants of the promised land? How can God be blessing some, punishing others, extending grace to some, and executing justice on others? Is He fickle or capricious? What can we learn about the complexity of God and our own intimacy and relationship with Him in our own battles?
