This is a cover of the famous guitar instrumental originally written and recorded by Duane Eddy and Lee Hazelwood in 1958. Of course it featured Eddy's Gretsch "twangy" guitar sound.... There was a lot of this guitar music about in the late 50's /60's which I still have a fondness for.

Guitars and Amps where only just evolving way back then, and so they had very little in the way of Guitar FXs, just a clean sound and maybe some reverb. The first track I learned to play on electric guitar was "Apache" by The Shadows. (like 1000's of others no doubt)

Anyway, this track and the twangy guitar sound is still popular and kinda defines the early rock'n'roll years. Love it!
