This track was iconic for it's stripped down, atmospheric slow groove, particularly it's memorable bass line. A song of virtually one chord and as good for what it left out as for what was put in it in terms of musical arrangement. It was very different for its time and I believe earned David Essex a #3 hit on the UK charts.

Whilst not a big fan of David Essex and his pop music, this track was a favourite of mine in the Glam Rock days. It stood out from the crowd and had a groove hard to ignore.

This cover really was a whim recording for me, done in a day really. I took a vocal stem from Karaoke Version and recorded and midi'd the rest from scratch. I included sounds FX and the "Trash Can Drum Kit", plus a 3 part harmony guitar break.

I hope you enjoy. Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT and SHARE this track if you like it.

NOTE: This performance is a demo only, made in The Hutch. Not for sale!
