On my first trip to Palestine in November 2017, El Oddz (Radio Nard) told me that there is a palestinian techno dj and producer who goes by the name of Sama. I did not know about her before, so i was really flashed as 27-year old Sama Abdulhadi aka سماء 'SAMA basically started the whole underground electronic movement there and started mixing in 2006 at parties around Ramallah, Palestine. In 2013 she started her career in Cairo as an Audio Engineer, Music Producer, Audio Trainer and Sound Designer for films. In 2017, as she was about to settle in Paris, SAMA’ decided to change her artist name from Skywalker to SAMA’ her first name, meaning „sky“ in Arabic. Since April 2018, as she was selected as a Laureate by the French Institute, SAMA’ is attending a six months residency at the International City of Arts in Paris, during which she will work on her next album and develop a new live show.
You can catch سماء 'SAMA deejaying in April 2018 in Paris, Berlin, Ramallah and Betlehem. In May 2018 she is invited to play Electropicales #10 in La Reunion and at the end of June she will nourish the freaks at the main stage of Fusion Festival in Germany.
