Listen

Description

Winnipeg based visual artist Jordan Stranger dropped by for an interview in 2018 before his workshop at Studio 393. The Peguis First Nations artists had just finished up his "I Am Not An Indian" exhibition at The Graffiti Gallery in Winnipeg. Throughout this interview he describes his work and his issues with the Indian Act. It is a good conversation. Something for young and old to listen. The interviewers and the interviewee are vulnerable as they discuss what Canada historically is about as it pertains to that document. Jordan Stranger says "I don't like having a card saying I'm an Indian. I'm Oji-Cree from Peguis. That was originally in Selkirk not 2 hours north."
