His passion for music and dj culture is evident. He started DJing in the early 1990s at rave massive and night clubs in the North East United States and soon was traveling around the country for gigs. In the late 1990s he organized underground warehouse parties named Redlight, and held a weekly residency for nearly eight years at The Phoenix Landing in Boston, which featured a star-studded list of guests on par with the finest clubs in the world. In the early 2000s Shalako traveled internationally for DJ gigs, notably playing Cocoon Club at U60311 in Frankfurt, and released music on labels Circle Music and Atlas Records.
