A lot of believers are born again but not living in light of their redemption. It’s like having an automatic gate that’s functioning on manual. A lot of believers are living like Old Testament saints who are trying hard to be good outside of being regenerated. It’s important to understand redemption if we are going to understand living from a new creation reality. God relates to you as the new creation not as a sinner. It’s important that we function from this vantage point. You are operating from a life independent of circumstances. This is why we can experience peace that passes understanding, joy that ‘s inexplicable and love that passes understanding. The life of the new creation has God as it’s source. It is God’s life = Zoe = the absolute fulness of life. Adam had this and then lost it. In the New Creation we regain it.
