I find it fascinating that the first thing Jesus is recorded to have shared after his resurrection was this:
[16] Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said to Him, "Rabboni!" (which is to say, Teacher). [17] Jesus said to her, "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.' " (Jn. 20:16-17).
He was addressing Mary Magdalene. His earth shattering news, the first news He wanted His disciples to hear after his death and now resurrection (they weren’t aware he was alive)… was this. Jesus and His disciples now shared the same Father.
This was, and is world altering news!
In this message we be looking a bit more deeply into this concept, that God is our Father, and what it actually means for us as believers. We will be looking truths from Ephesians. Paul wrote this epistle to the believer at and around Ephesus, and it appears the letter is primarily addressed to the Gentiles in Ephesus. This revelation that he was sharing with them was awesome! The revelation and truth that Gentiles now along with Jews were fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God!
