1. Imagination is a crucial component when praying to God, because in order to help us believe in what we are asking for, we must first see it in our minds. This will help make what we are asking for real and tangible so that we are able to pray effectively because now we are praying for something that has been made real in our imagination
2. Imagination is a gift from God, as God “used his imagination” when creating the world. God first saw the light in his mind and therefore spoke and said, “Let there be light”. Therefore, we know that our imagination comes from God because God used it first and has given it to us, to use to help us speak that which we imagine, into existence.
3. We can use our imagination to prepare us for any given situation. Our imagination can help be proactive and not reactive whenever an unfavorable situation arises. How we picture or imagine our day and how we want our day to turn out can help us pray better and prepare better for when pressurized situations arise and we must address the situation in a positive manner.
4. How do you see your life 5 years from now? Imagination is a powerful tool to help us to answer the following questions:
a. What type of person are you?
b. What type of career do you have?
c. What kind of family do you have?
d. What are the things you are doing, that are fulfilling, look like?
5. Judgment towards others is a hindrance to effective prayer because the same measure you use to judge others will be used against you. What you judge trumps what you pray. So, judge righteously and have mercy on others so that God, when you pray, can exert the same mercy towards you so that your prayers can be answered.
