Last week we started looking at the rationale for prayer, and understanding the why behind prayer. When I don’t understand why I should do something or if I should do it, or whether there is any perceivable value for me in doing it, I am less likely to do it! We started looking at the answers to some of the questions that echo in the hearts of any people around prayer.
Whenever doctrine is to be established, a great rule of thumb is for us to look at what Jesus taught on it, how we see that thing modelled in the book of Acts, and how we see it taught on or modelled in the epistles. We have looked at what Jesus taught and modelled on prayer. This week we will continue and look at prayer in the book of Acts and in the epistles.
