As a senior in high school, I auditioned for several piano competitions. Last night, I discovered that an article had appeared in The New York Times, which described my piano playing at those auditions - 42 years ago! You see, unbeknownst to me, the esteemed music critic, Robert Sherman had been there, observing. As I read his words, I was brought back to my early years, to the inspiration I felt in auditioning Mozart's Piano Concerto K.467, and how I would ultimately have the opportunity to perform it with an orchestra. In this podcast, I play a bit of the concerto's beloved 2nd movement. Here is the article. https://www.nytimes.com/1977/04/03/archives/connecticut-weekly-music-competitions-here-to-stay.html
