Description

Continuum returns to Dubmission with a trio of retro futurist gems. Dark and velvety, with depth and complexity, all three tracks are eerily reminiscent of late 90's/early 00's chillout, yet at the same time could only have been produced now.

The title track, with it's Cure-ish guitar line and arpeggiating synths, was co-written with Mas Nalgan (AKA Sam Langan), and references the ideal state of mind where the creative process is effortless and almost unconscious.

Navacerrada, named after the mountain range in Spain where Continuum's family have a home, is an easy skanking number, while Gravity Fold is the darkest and most minimal of the three, with a sparse and techy opening that leads on to a musically uplifting ending provided by the chimes of a hang drum. The cheesy vocal sample is Continuum shamelessly channelling Eat Static, one of his all time biggest influences.

The warmth and emotional resonance of all three tracks makes the Flow State EP the perfect tonic for the start of the year.
