Whatever Machinery We Carry Inside Us, soundcloud.com/mcthfg's new EP, is inspired by a line from the Iain M. Banks book "Use of Weapons". For Chris, science fiction and dub are natural allies, as both seem to come from the future whilst looking back at the past. Plus, as he sees it, "good music, and good fiction, cause us to see many sides, many angles, and to understand that the truth of a matter is often far more complex than the surface view we casually observe."
The EP finds him further developing his style crafting intricate electronica full of woozy melodies, crunchy beats and pulsating bass. The mysteriously numbered tracks confound genres, but, if pushed, 2544 could be described as mutant lounge at it's finest, like Thievery Corporation on mushrooms. 21122, on the other hand, is designed to test that your subs are still functioning!
