listen to an interview with architect & artist joy charbonneau speaking on the project "a hydrological map of canada" which was based on "raw data files available from the Government of Canada and generated this representation of our country where land is rendered black and every canal, creek, brook, river, basin, lake, and body of water appears in white."

got the opportunity to speak with joy about the map, about the importance of publicly accessible data and also about the ways that "official" borderlines and water don't correspond. more info about the project live at :
