listen to an interview with musician, composer and oud player Mohamed Masmoudi recorded in late Dec. 2015. in this interview Mohamed speaks about his practice as an oud player in Quebec, the various cultural and political influences on his composition practice, while also exploring contemporary social / political modes of Quebec society. within the interview Mohamed offers a critique toward exclusionary social visions and the ways they limit cultural exchange, from the Islamic State in the Middle East, to racist nationalist visions for Quebec as seen during the so-called "Charter of Values" proposal under the last PQ government in Quebec.
