One of the few truly anti-war movies, shown from the perspective of a 14 year old boy as gruesome crimes of war are inflicted upon civilians around him. Based on the experiences of director Elem Klimov and writer Ales Adamovich, this is a masterpiece of cinema, as poetic and beautiful as it is harrowing and intense.
