Bethany Ball’s debut novel What to Do About the Solomons with Grove Atlantic was published in 2017. Judy Blume called it “funny, sexy, and smart” and it was a New York Times Editors’ Choice. The novel was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize, the Jewish Book Council’s debut novel prize, and the “The Bridge” Book Award. Ball has been published in The Common, American Literary Review, the Detroit MetroTimes and LitHub, and forthcoming from Zyzzyva. Her second novel, The Pessimists, is due out in 2021 from Grove Atlantic.
