TWO WORDS: BELIEVE & CONFESS
1. I MUST BELIEVE IN MY HEART
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness” v. 10a
“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23
“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9
“I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins.” John 8:24
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
“…but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” John 20:31
• WHAT MUST I BELIEVE? RESURRECTION
“…that God has raised Him from the dead…” v. 9b
“…concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord…” Romans 1:3-4
“But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord…” Romans 4:23-24
“You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder!” James 2:19
“And when he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and fell down before him. And crying out with a loud voice, he said, ‘What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.’” Mark 5:6-7
2. I MUST CONFESS WITH MY MOUTH

• CONFESSION: SAY THE SAME THING
• WHAT MUST I CONFESS? JESUS IS LORD
“For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.” Romans 14:9
“Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says ‘Jesus is accursed!’ and no one can say ‘Jesus is Lord’ except in the Holy Spirit.” 1 Corinthians 12:3
“And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Joel 2:32
