My friend and the former drummer of my very first band in 1982, John Perry, died on New Year's Eve from complications arising from Parkinson's Disease. There's very little record of his work as a drummer, even though he spent all of his career as a drum teacher up in North Lincolnshire, which is a bit of a travesty, since he was genuinely one of the finest drummers I've ever heard. This recording was part of a second EP, which was due to come out via Kamera Records, who unfortunately went bust before that happened. It was recorded at Fairview Studios in Hull and shows what a brilliant player he was (his style is very redolent of Kenny Martin, the former Defunkt drummer. Apologies for the rap on this track, we were young and naive (and terrible rappers).
