I was at a Michael McDonald/Boz Scaggs concert with my lady and she was laughing at me for knowing all the songs. Well, the Michael McDonald ones at least. She commented, "How do you know all this Yacht Rock?" and I reminded her that my mom is white. We started joking around that I should make a mix of it, and eventually it became a dare and challenge. I love Classic Rock, so I decided to go ahead and make this mix. There are a lot of really terrible Yacht Rock songs out there, but I picked only my favorites for this mix. These ones are a bit more funky and uptempo. You may claim that not all these songs are Yacht Rock, but they are definitely Soft Rock tunes (aka Blue Eyed Soul) from the late 70's and early 80's.
