Description

Fika with Vicky’s guest this week is Mitch Markowitz. Mitch was Co-Producer for The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, a popular Canadian Children’s Television series. It premiered September 4th, 1971 and still runs on various markets today…over 50 years later!

However, The Hilarious House of Frightenstein didn’t just appeal to children. Also syndicated in markets across the USA, the age of its audience grew along with its size, and it found a home in college dormitories and anywhere people enjoyed laughter, old monster movies, and a bit of randomness.

Along with appearances made by Vincent Price, multiple characters being played by Billy Van, Fishka Rais, Guy Big, and Julius Summer Miller, Mitch would fly by as Super Hippy with a few words of wisdom (or not). But whether the words were wise or not, didn’t seem to matter. This show has inspired people of all ages, including myself. There was a librarian, of course.

Join us as we discuss The Hilarious House of Frightenstein Then and Now. Because it’s still growing with branches reaching out into the world everyday.
