Well ... this is something a little different from my usual sound. If you aren't familiar, @jreinhold 's Wintry Mix series is the stuff of legends amongst the extended @party-liberation-front fam back in VA. These mixes are deep, soulful, beautiful, introspective, and have really helped me process a lot of difficult feelings throughout my life. This year we finally realized our dream of doing it live, not just as a batch of mixes. This was originally streamed from a cabin in the snow covered mountains of West Virginia, but I rerecorded a shorter version for the final mix.
2021 (and the beginning of 2022) was one of the most difficult, best, and also weirdest years of my life, and I'm gonna guess that I'm not alone in that. I've had some of my highest highs, and most definitely my lowest lows over the past couple years. I'm happy to say that the good really does come in waves, and right this moment I'm the best I've been in quite some time. But there's been some pretty rough patches, and I know there will be more.
So yeah ... I guess this mix is my way of processing all of that. I hope it can help you to do the same, or at least just be something nice and chill to listen to 🙏❤️
