The Braw and The Brave is a podcast people and their passions.
Episode 103 is in conversation with movement director, choreographer, performer and dance teacher Chris JS Wilson. Originally choreographing a student production at Edinburgh University where he had studied Medical Anatomy, Chris has gone on to work on many professional and amateur large scale musical productions, as well as performing for many years as part of his cabaret duo Kitsch Kats. He has worked with some of country’s biggest arts organisations, regularly teaching for Dance Base in Edinburgh where he delivered an outreach program in 2017 for those dealing with dementia which received great media attention. When he’s not teaching or directing, Chris is wowing audiences as Jesus L’Oreal- a fitness and lifestyle guru come influencer. First performing a short skit at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2013, Chris has taken this concept of Jesus reimagined to dizzying heights, with ‘CrossFit’ (2017) and ‘Still Nailing It’ (2019) touring several venues in Scotland, with the latter making it’s Australian debut in Adelaide in early 2020.
Chris’s focus is on people enjoying movement. His fun, energetic and inclusive approach welcomes dancers of all ages and abilities. His pathway in to dance may be considered unconventional but Chris proves that there’s not one way to pursue your passions in life!
Enjoy!
