The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions.
Episode 87 is in conversation with Creative Producer at Scottish Youth Theatre, Mahri Reilly and actor, director and theatre maker, Melanie Jordan currently working with a cast of 20 young people and other theatre professionals to ‘digitally reimagine’ National Ensemble’s touring production in response to the Covid 19 crisis. Creating a new site-specific piece about climate change, Melanie gives great insight into the devising process via Zoom, what audiences can look forward to from this radical new piece of live performance and Mahri explains how Scottish Youth Theatre are adapting to change in order to keep young people engaged and connected through the arts.
“The world is burning. It is flooding. There is drought, famine and pollution. Time is running out to deal with the climate emergency. Whilst catastrophe looms it is our young people fighting back, fighting for their future and for yours. Join Scottish Youth Theatre’s National Ensemble as they take on one of the greatest challenges of our time – climate justice – in a new production, Once You See the Smoke. The National Ensemble invite you to join the fight and forge a better, more just future for society.”
Performances in 2nd, 3rd & 4th July 2020
