The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions.
Episode 113 is in conversation with Composer and Musical Director Robert Scott. Not from a musical family, he persisted in his innate desire to play piano from a young age, going on to study at The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama before heading to London to pursue a career in theatre. At the musical helm of some of the world’s most renowned and beloved productions, Robert, originally from Dalmellington, has travelled the globe with classics such as Singin In The Rain, White Christmas, Carousel, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Funny Girl. In more recent years he and writing partner Brendan Cull (lyrics) have been creating the soundtrack to Sleepless a musical based on the blockbuster film Sleepless In Seattle which recently opened in London to a socially distanced audience. From accompanying actor friends in auditions in the early days to crafting Westend productions, Robert beautifully recounts the pinch-me moments and the ‘luck’ he attributes to the amazingly successful and varied career he has enjoyed thus far.
Enjoy!
