Episode 166 is in conversation with counsellor and outdoor therapist Sean Tierney. Retraining after some unfulfilling roles, it was always Sean’s intention to take his practise outside. A person-centred, pluralistic approach, sessions are catered to the needs of each client, with the outdoors offering a more unconventional setting for therapy. Sean has devised workshops to support others working in counselling/supportive roles to feel more equipped to lead sessions in nature and also offers counselling in schools for both primary and secondary pupils. Passionate about the powers of the great outdoors, coupled with debunking some of the myths and taboos around counselling, Sean’s positive, proactive attitude to making ideas a reality has led him to create a unique service for anyone who just needs some time dedicated to them.
