The Braw and The Brave is a podcast about people and their passions.
Episode 119 is in conversation with award-winning weaver and designer Christopher McEvoy, co-founder of VEVAR- a woven textile studio and modern micro mill in the heart of Glasgow’s East End. Designing predominantly for the couture fashion industry for years, Christopher, armed with his expertise and a wealth of experience, has now joined forces with Chantal Allen of Warped Textiles to create a space and opportunities to collaborate with other designers and makers, as well as manufacturing their own woven collections. Keen to support young designers in Scotland, Christopher explains the importance of offering opportunities to those from low socioeconomic backgrounds to access the arts. Born in to a family of weavers, Christopher details his pathway in to art and design, his inspirations and what led him to establishing VEVAR.
