ERF kicks of his first EP release on Formation Records with a collaboration with the head honcho, DJ SS, for a dark and heavy track. ‘Movement’ sees a combination of layers of bass formed to create a monster that no USB should be without. The intro sees an airy start to ‘Movement’ with the gradual and well thought out build up to the first drop. This is where listeners are first hit with the murky bass that is the feature throughout the track.
The second track of the EP, ‘Secrets’ begins in a mysterious fashion, with chilling vocal sections taken straight from a church choir. When the drop hits, we’re left walking backwards as it comes towards us with full force. The combination of fast drums and slow vocals is a perfect combination.
‘Brothers’ starts with a much different introduction, calm and relaxing piano brings an essence of love and gratitude to this track. ‘Brothers’ is genuinely a moving track, with touching lyrics throughout. Just listen.
The third track of the EP ‘Greedy’ sees a return to business with bass that is dirty enough to need a vaccine against. ERF’S use of vocals through out the EP is on point, and he doesn’t let us down in this track either.
Finally we come to ‘Buried’ the perfect track to finish off this well rounded debut EP from ERF. With a deep rolling bass and throwbacks to the Formation tracks of the past, ‘Buried’ will be coming alive on dance floors in the near future.
