Gibraltar nowadays is home to a growing number of internet-based businesses. Gaming firms, fintech companies and others have come to the Rock in recent years. This means that cyber security is a big concern locally and one school teacher has seized on this opportunity to get more young people considering computer science as a career option. Head of Physics at Bayside Comprehensive school for boys, Stewart Harrison first took a team to the Cyber Centurion competition at Bletchley Park (the home of the code breakers) five years ago, since then his teams have gone on to reach the finals and even to win. They’ve shown that although it may be small, Gibraltar can compete at the highest level.
