Today, the 21st October 2019 marks the 214th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Gibraltar had a role in that battle providing provisions for the ships and their crews beforehand and treating some of the wounded afterwards. Two of the men who lost their lives in that battle are buried at the Trafalgar Cemetery in Gibraltar, and each year in October, an act of remembrance takes place there.
