On 8th June 1969, Spain’s General Franco closed the land border between Spain and Gibraltar. Overnight supply lines were cut, families were separated and telecommunications ceased.
This week on Gibraltar Stories sees the start of ‘The Closed Frontier 50 Years On’ a new mini series, in Part 1 – The Closure, I look back at the build up to the closure of the border, as well as hearing from people who were there on the night of the 8th June 1969.
