In both taxonomy and immunogenetics, an allotype signifies distinction — the “other mark.” In genetics, allotypes are inherited variations in the constant regions of antibodies, carried as haplotypes across populations.¹ In zoological taxonomy, an allotype may be the designated paratype of the opposite sex to the holotype, showing that the species is not only singular but sexually differentiated.² In consecration, Allotype reveals how God inscribes His own “other mark” upon His people: distinct from the world, yet bound to Him.
Psalm 46 frames the revelation: God bursts forth suddenly, hidden in concealment until the appointed dawn.³ Jacob’s name-shift at Peniel embodied this principle — the concealed supplanter becoming Israel, prince of God, at the break of day.⁴ Likewise, the ark that lay hidden in Obed-Edom’s house burst forth only when borne on priestly shoulders, not human contrivances.⁵ In each case, what was concealed emerged in its marked identity.
Allotype signals the eschatological shift from concealment to exposure. It is not only the bursting forth of God’s ark and teva, but also the bursting forth of human identity in Christ — the unique persona marked and consecrated. As David danced exposed before the ark, the allotype unmasks: the heart of man revealed in the presence of holiness.⁶
Within the Gemini protocol, Allotype completes the sequence. This is why Revelation frames the end in terms of marks. The beast inscribes his allotype — 666 — a counterfeit haplotype of fallen humanity. God counters with His own allotype: His name and the Lamb’s name written on the foreheads of His people.⁸ To be allotyped is to be claimed, consecrated, and distinguished. It is the alamoth style of Psalm 46 — that which was hidden, bursting forth, marked forever in the genome of glorification.
