Have you ever organically received a shoutout from one of your celebrity idols? It's a pretty cool feeling if you have. The creators behind the app 'Cameo' believe in the value derived from shoutouts, and has created a platform to inorganically replicate the celebrity shoutout. Essentially, for a fee, you can ask a celebrity to give you a shoutout!
Want Brett Favre to give you a video shoutout? That will be $500...Snoop Dogg? That will set you back $3,000! It seems a lot of people are willing to pay for this short-term experience, and the platform is growing rapidly. In fact, in July 2019 the company raised $50M, fulfilling an average of 2,000 video requests per day, with the top earners making well over 6-figures.
