BRKN VSN (formerly VSN) has been mixing music for under a year. Getting her start in November 21. She’s played house parties, a few club/bar sets here and there as well as Tickle my Fancy. Montana born and based, she’s catching the eye and ear of underground party goers.
Why did you get into it?
To share my feelings in a healthy way. And to try to connect to those around me in a new way.
What inspires you?
My loved ones. Nature. Peaceful conversations. Memories. And expanding the mind from normal. Sometimes just being silly. Or catching a vibe. Whatever it is, it's a part of me that just comes out. That feeling of release. It's what really keeps me going in my arts.
What genres are in your mix?
Bass, dubstep, experimental, electronic, lofi.
A few words about your mix?
I used to download music before I even started mixing. So my sound was all over at first. Overthinking everything I did. This was my second mix settling into a sound direction I'd like to go. In my other mixes you'll hear accents of latin, or old school hip hop. I definitely love throwbacks from my youth. Even DNB and bass house. This one focused on lofi and current pop culture..in a deep low tempo way. No matter what it is I just love a good bass though. This one really leans into it.
Who are some of the artists in your mix?
Kirbybright provided the lofi vibes. Along with smith. a majority of these artists I just discovered however. So that's all I can tell you from memory haha
Anything else you want us to know?
The hardest lesson I've learned in the last 8 months. “Don't overthink it”
