Description

Named after New York City’s ubiquitous “tree of heaven,” “Ailanthus” is a track from Green and Grey, a record inspired by the intersections between the natural world and human-created environments. Green and Grey was released in 2011 on Important records (North America) and Tin Angel records (UK./Europe), and utilizes multitracked cello, field recordings, and found sounds, composed and performed by Julia Kent.

Howl! Arts collective is releasing “Ailanthus” for download in the lead-up to the fourth edition of the Howl! concert series, featuring a special Montreal performance by Julia Kent, taking place on Nov. 24th at La Sala Rossa, 4848 St. Laurent blvd. Also featured at the concert will be musician/artist Jen Reimer and Les momies de Palerme, via Constellation records. For information and updates follow Howl! on twitter and on facebook. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the fourth Howl! concert in Montreal!
