If Jesus were to come now many would perish—not have eternal life. Jesus hasn't come yet because it is not His will that any perish, but all come to repentance and know Him. He wants to come to eliminate all the pain and suffering, and He will at some point, but meanwhile He is adamant in making the truth be known to eliminate many entering into eternal damnation.
