Born in Lincoln, Dick started as an administrator at Lincoln City in the era of Graham Taylor. He then worked as Club Secretary at both clubs in Sheffield, United and Wednesday, taking on pretty much every non-coaching role including marketing, matchday affairs and convening board meetings.
In collaboration with Wednesday fan John Dyson, Dick’s memoir Football – An Insider’s Job pulls back the proverbial curtain on football in the pre-Premier League era.
