Football in Argentina is never, ever dull. Dr Mark Orton gained his PhD from De Montford University with a thesis which took him to Argentina for a year.
The fruits of his labours emerged in two books, which were both published in 2023. The first is a more academic tome based on his doctoral thesis on Football and National Identity, while the other is a history of River Plate called El Mas Grande.
